About High Society

High Society at the Barbican is Cole Porter’s musical comedy about a society wedding that unravels when old flames, new attractions and a tabloid reporter arrive at the waterfront estate. The production is set for the summer season and features a 28-strong cast.

Helen George stars as Tracy Lord, with Felicity Kendal also in the cast, alongside a full-size orchestra. The score draws on Cole Porter favourites including Just One Of Those Things, Let’s Misbehave, I Love Paris, Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?, Well, Did You Evah and True Love.

Brought together by a multi award-winning creative team including Rachel Kavanaugh and choreographer Anthony Van Laast, this production offers Golden Age musical theatre with a large cast and a broad, familiar score.

Key facts: Duration approximately 2 hours 30 minutes, including a 20-minute interval.

Suitable for children is to be confirmed. No refunds or exchanges are available after purchase.

Helen George will not appear on Wed 1 and Fri 3 July, when her role will be played by an understudy. Felicity Kendal is not scheduled for the matinee performance on Thu 9 July, and Julian Ovenden is not scheduled to perform on Sat 20 June for either the matinee or evening performance.
