About

About My Son’s A Queer (But What Can You Do?)

My Son’s A Queer (But What Can You Do?) is playing on Shaftesbury Ave, Soho, London W1D 7EZ. It is the autobiographical story of West End Musical Theatre star Rob Madge, centred on the full-blown Disney parade they tried to stage at home for their grandma when they were twelve.

The show revisits that family performance, with Rob taking on roles including Mary Poppins, Ariel, Mickey Mouse and Belle while their dad acted as stage manager, sound technician and Goofy. As the parade unfolds, the costumes go wrong and the cues miss their mark, but grandma still enjoys the result.

The production was awarded Best Off-West End Production 2022 by WhatsOnStage.
