About

About The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind

The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind is a new musical based on the true story of William Kamkwamba.

As drought closes in on his family’s farm and the village he loves, William tries to build a windmill using library books and scraps of old machinery, even though those around him doubt he can do it. The story follows his effort to turn an invention into power and create hope for tomorrow.

This world premiere is based on William Kamkwamba’s memoir and Chiwetel Ejiofor’s film. It is directed by Lynette Linton, with book and lyrics by Richy Hughes and music and lyrics by Tim Sutton.

Dates: 26th April - 18th July.
