About The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind

The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind is playing at Soho Place. This new musical tells the true story of William Kamkwamba, a boy who wants to build a windmill and give hope to his family and village as drought closes in on their farm.

Based on William Kamkwamba’s memoir and Chiwetel Ejiofor’s film, this world premiere is directed by Lynette Linton, with book and lyrics by Richy Hughes and music and lyrics by Tim Sutton. The story follows William as he works with library books and scraps of old machinery when others doubt he can succeed.
