The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind at Soho Place is a bold new musical based on the true story of William Kamkwamba.
Set on a family farm where drought is closing in, it follows William as he tries to build a windmill using library books and scraps of old machinery, with his family and village facing an uncertain future.
This world premiere is based on William’s memoir and Chiwetel Ejiofor’s film, with direction by Lynette Linton, book and lyrics by Richy Hughes, and music and lyrics by Tim Sutton.
Key facts: Runs from 26 April to 18 July.
Age guidance: Recommended for ages 9+. The production contains loud music and flashing lights, and includes themes of violence and death.
Access and ticketing: The performance on 20 June at 2.30pm is a regular BSL performance, not an integrated BSL performance. Tickets cannot be refunded or exchanged after purchase.
