About

Music for Meditation is an experimental approach to live music, a hybrid of live performance and guided meditation. The aim is to create a more immersive gig experience, using music as the object of meditation - with the help of a qualified secular mindfulness instructor.

This time around we will be hosting Lo Five, who will be playng a 45 minute set of sounds that have been directly influenced from the artist's own meditation practice - which use recorded sounds and synthesizers which aim to create a sense of qiietude and peace.

The meditation will be guided by qualified instructor, Anthony Bennett, a mindfulness teacher with The Mind Map and a current PhD student at LJMU's School of Psychology.

The performance + guided meditation will last approximately 30 minutes, with a brief period before and after for introductions, explainers and feedback.

Attendees are encouraged to bring cushions or mats to make themselves as comfortable as possible. The event is taking place in a dance studio so the flooring is fine for sitting on, there will be a limited number of chairs available too.

Spaces are strictly limited to 30 - so we'd recommend booking your ticket at the earliest available opportunity.
