About

Louth Chamber Choir will return to St James's Church Louth with Lincolnshire Chamber Players. 

The programme will include three Bruckner motets Locus Iste, Chirstus factus est, Ave Maria, in the year which marks 200 years since Bruckner's birth. The concert will also feature Coelus ascendit hodie and The Lord is my shepherd (Stanford). This year is the 100t anniversary of the death of Charles Villiers Stanford. The Chamber Choir will perform unaccompanied motets, including O Lord, give thy Holy Spirit and If ye love me (Tallis). Also the first performance of a new composition by Frederic Goodwin "I heard the bells", a setting of words by Henry Longfellow on the theme of American Civil War and concluding with a call for faith to overcome doubt and despair. A usual the choir will be joined by the Lincolnshire Chamber Players, who will perform excerpts from Water Music (Handel).
