About

Songwriter and multi-instrumentalist David Geraghty is a founding member of Bell X1 and he continues to be a driving force behind the band. Releases have included ten albums (four No.1), extensive world tours, as well as opening for acts such as U2 and Ed Sheeran.

Geraghty’s output also includes composing for TV & Film (productions that star Aidan Gillan & Tom Vaughan-Lawlor and which include the hit TV show ‘The Dry’).

Alongside this activity, Geraghty releases solo works. The debut, ‘Kill Your Darlings’ (2007), was received with critical acclaim and was followed up in 2009 with the equally evocative ‘The Victory Dance’.

2014 marked the first of two releases for Geraghty under the moniker ‘Join Me in the Pines’ with an album of brooding dark folk called ‘Inherit’. The release of ‘Monomania’ in 2019 saw a startling shift to a groove-based electro sound that has flashes of Prince, Gary Numan, Peter Gabriel, Nile Rodgers with reviewers commenting:

"Geraghty has proven himself a master of melody in the past, but this album confirms that he’s a crackerjack when it comes to groove and soul, too”. "Dismiss this as a side-project at your peril".

Lauren Murphy – The Irish Times

“Throughout Monomania, there are flawless falsettos, shimmering synths and

rhythms so infectious they could carry their own health warning....It’s seriously impressive.”
John Walshe – Hot Press

Geraghty/JMITP has opened for acts such as David Gray and Hall & Oates at Live At The Marquee, Cork and Iveagh Gardens, Dublin.

The next step in Geraghty’s musical trajectory sees a return to releasing as DAVID GERAGHTY. For the making of the new album ‘KOMOREBI’, Geraghty added the enriching process of mixing to his writer/producer credentials. The album ‘Komorebi’ which will be released in 2026, is an exciting development in this fresh and creative trajectory.
