Rex Hooper and the Gunsingers deliver cinematic western music rooted in classic country, bluegrass and 1950s frontier ballads. Drawing inspiration from vintage western soundtracks and the storytelling tradition of artists like Hank Williams and Lefty Frizzel, their songs feel like lost scenes from an old film reel. Led by songwriter and vocalist Rex Hooper, the band blends acoustic textures, harmony vocals and evocative imagery to create music that is rugged, atmospheric and timeless. With a strong emphasis on narrative and mood, their performative balances, warmth, humour, and stark western drama. Their work evokes wide open landscaped, moral reckonings and the quiet poetry of the American West - reimagined through a contemporary lens but faithful to its roots.
