East Devon Soul Festival is situated at a range of venues across the town of Seaton, a beautiful seaside location on the South coast of England. The music crosses borders from jazz to electronica, funk to drum and bass, music that connects and has soul. Acts include the wonderful Dr Meaker, festival legends The Egg, upcoming drum and bass artist Kaya Fyah and The Fyah Live Band, ska merchants The Guns of Navarone to electronic artist Kayla Painter. World renowned jazz talent agency Tomorrow's Warriors, home of Ezra Collective and Nubya Garcia, will be presenting three of their top new artists including David Kayode. DJ's will be performing in venues overlooking the beach playing a mix of electronic dance genres across house, drum and bass, hip hop etc... whilst street bands and local musicians will be playing across the town during the day. Seaton will resonate to the sound of music.
The festival starts on Friday eve, 3rd July, with surf rock stars The Rumble-O's at the Old Picture House venue. Across Saturday daytime, enjoy live music and DJ's across town or by the beach, from local artists, curated by Sustainability Live Radio, B Sharp, local schools and community groups. Wander around Seaton, grab some fresh and natural food from local businesses and head to the Gateway Theatre for 4 headline acts in the late afternoon, crossing funk, jazz, ska, soul and drum and bass borders. Saturday eve also features Tomorrows Warriors presenting Ankora and Sula, two amazing all female jazz ensembles. After this, walk over the road to the Old Picture House for some live electronic music, including festival favourites The Egg. Finish the day at the beach, enjoying sunset with a lovely cocktail/ beer/ juice with DJ's at Tide, The Vault and Hideaway venues.
