Fierce Beer vs Rare Find Whisky III

Back by popular demand after two straight sell-outs, we are buzzing to bring you round three of our whisky and beer pairing night with Charlie Wilson of Rare Find Independent Bottlers. The Fierce crew have handpicked a perfect beer to match each of these five exceptional drams, featuring four single-cask beauties from Rare Find's "The Art of Contrast" collection and a sneaky fifth surprise dram.

We’ll start with a 12-Year-Old Blair Athol (56.1% ABV), matured in first-fill ex-bourbon for a rich, honeyed hit of buttery shortbread and warm apple turnovers. Next is a 14-Year-Old Deanston (57.3% ABV), fully matured in a Napa Valley red wine barrique to layer balsamic strawberries and ripe plums over its classic waxy spirit. Then, we explore sherry quarter casks with a pair of 9-year-olds: first, a vibrant Speyside Dalmunach (60.6% ABV) bursting with lemon sponge and chocolate brownies; second, a Mystery Islay (57.9% ABV) where heavy Oloroso beautifully collides with maritime smoke, sea salt, and coastal peat. To finish, Charlie is pouring a top-secret fifth dram that you’ll only find out about once it hits your glass.
