The Blakehay Theatre

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to our Spring Season at The Blakehay Theatre, which is packed full of a wide spectrum of wonderful performances and events for the whole family to enjoy. We also have the start of our 10th Anniversary year that runs from 1st April 2014 - 31st March 2015. It has been 10 years since the Weston-super-Mare Town Council, saved the theatre from an uncertain future and has been managed, renovated and improved in the last 10 years. I am sure that you will agree with me that the theatre is a great asset to Weston and compliments the already vibrant theatre following that we have in the town. This season we have an evening with the archaeologist Mark Horton who you may have caught presenting the successful BBC series 'Coast'. He will be raising money for the Weston Lifeboat Station Appeal. The Comedy Box will also be returning with a regular monthly Friday night comedy night from the best in UK Stand up. If you are a Musical Theatre fan we have an amazing variety on offer this season with Louise Dearman dropping into the theatre on her UK tour who is straight from her successful years on the west end stage. She has just completed three years playing the roles of Glinda and Elphaba in the critically acclaimed hit musical Wicked! We also have an evening delight of Rogers & Hammerstein and Lerner & Lowe hits with Richard Lennox and professional soloists. Weston College students will also be taking to the stage with their end of year musical and Worle Operatic return with the Musical Drama 'Jack the Ripper'.
