Hieroglyphics live in Bristol

Legendary hip-hop collective Hieroglyphics have announced their debut UK and European tour. In what could be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the iconic group, they will embark on an extensive run of dates in May and June, with shows at O2 Academy Bristol on Friday 31 May, London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town on Saturday 01 June and O2 Ritz Manchester on Friday 14 June.

Formed on the vibrant streets of Oakland in 1991, the Hieroglyphics Crew stands as a cornerstone of the underground hip-hop movement. Born of a collective vision to transcend musical boundaries and redefine the essence of rap, this legendary ensemble has carved an indelible mark on the cultural landscape. Led by visionary MCs including Del the Funky Homosapien - who collaborated with Gorillaz for two songs on their self-titled 2001 debut album, "Clint Eastwood" and "Rock the House" - Souls of Mischief, Casual, Pep Love and Domino; the crew forged a unique sonic identity blending intricate lyricism, eclectic, often jazz-infused beats, and socially conscious themes.

Focussing on lyrical flow through scrupulous wordplay, the Hieroglyphic’s crew’s impact, extends far beyond the realm of music, through their innovative approach to storytelling and multimedia artistry, cementing their status as true cultural pioneers.

Celebrating 25 years of 3rd Eye Vision, 50 years of hip-hop and 30 years of ‘93 ‘til Infinity’, the tour will see the group come to the UK and Europe in full for the first time ever, joined – in a rare live appearance – by the platinum selling Del The Funky Homosapien. Cited as a huge influence by the likes of A Tribe Called Quest, Andre 3000, Eminem, De La Soul and Wu-Tang, the Heiro Crew are true rappers’ rappers.
