First and foremost, you need to know that these are not just simple dance classes or some ordinary dancing events, this is a worldwide project.

The purpose, is to spread this amazing rhythm and gorgeous Cumbia Sonidera dance from Mexico and Colombian Cumbia, all over the globe.

This music and dance need to be known by everyone who really has Cumbia in their hearts.

For those who don’t know...

• Cumbia is a Latin American musical genre born in Colombia somewhere around the 1800`s.

It is the first Latin musical genre to appear on the American continent, then other genres such as Salsa, Cha cha cha, Mambo, Rumba etc. followed.

• Since 1940 - 1950's, Cumbia has been taken over by the other Latin countries on the continent.

Ciudad de Mexico was first to find the love for the Colombian Cumbia, and then added some few extra sounds to it.

They named it Cumbia Sonidera.

Cumbia is considered to be the soul of Latin American music and Queen of the rhythms.

The Cumbia we have here in Bristol that we’ll learn more about is Cumbia Sonidera, from North Mexico.

The dance styles that we are gonna learn... are from the cities: Leon Guanajuato, San Luis Potosi, Monterrey, Monclova and Texas.

There's 5 Cumbia dance styles we have in the project:

3 partner dance styles; Paso Doble, Cumbia Texana and North Mexico Sonideros steps.

and 2 street dance styles; Cholos and Chuntaros.

Now is the time for England and all of Europe to see and feel the energy and vibration of Colombian and Mexican Cumbia- the music that the world needs to hear and learn more about.

Together, we can give huge support to Mexico and help get the dance style of Cumbia Sonidera out there in the world, internationalising it like Salsa, Bachata and Cha Cha Cha are.

This project,  "Rhythm and Flavor",  was created in 2019 by Virgil Y Cumbias,

the only dance teacher in the UK who has this passion for Colombian Cumbia and Cumbia Sonidera, and he wants YOU in the circle of RUEDA DE CUMBIA.

We are most fortunate to be here in Bristol and share with you the true power of Cumbia.

These dance classes will prepare you for all the Cumbia events that will take place in Bristol or anywhere else in the world.

This is very new and very fresh for the UK, right from the streets where Cumbia Sonidera is listened and danced the most.

En primer lugar, debes saber que no se trata de simples clases de baile o eventos de baile comunes y corrientes, sino que se trata de un proyecto mundial.

El propósito es difundir este increíble ritmo y la hermosa Cumbia Sonidera de México y la Cumbia colombiana por todo el mundo.

Esta música y baile necesitan ser conocidos por todo aquel que realmente tenga la Cumbia en su corazón.

Para los que no lo saben...

• La cumbia es un género musical latinoamericano nacido en Colombia alrededor del siglo XIX.

Es el primer género musical latino que aparece en el continente americano, luego le siguieron otros géneros como Salsa, Cha cha cha, Mambo, Rumba etc.

• Desde 1940 - 1950, la cumbia ha sido asumida por los demás países latinos del continente.

Ciudad de México fue el primero en encontrar el amor por la cumbia colombiana y luego le agregó algunos sonidos adicionales.

La llamaron Cumbia Sonidera.

La cumbia es considerada el alma de la música latinoamericana y reina de los ritmos.

La Cumbia que tenemos aquí en Bristol y de la que aprenderemos más es la Cumbia Sonidera, del norte de México.

Los estilos de baile que vamos a aprender... son de las ciudades: León Guanajuato, San Luis Potosí, Monterrey, Monclova y Texas.

Son 5 estilos de baile de Cumbia que tenemos en el proyecto:

3 estilos de baile en pareja;  Paso Doble, Cumbia Texana y Pasos Sonideros del Norte de México.

y 2 estilos de baile callejero;  Cholos y Chuntaros.

Ahora es el momento de que Inglaterra y toda Europa vean y sientan la energía y la vibración de la cumbia colombiana y mexicana, la música que el mundo necesita escuchar y aprender más.

Juntos podemos dar un gran apoyo a México y ayudar a que el estilo de baile de Cumbia Sonidera salga al mundo, internacionalizándolo como lo son la Salsa, la Bachata y el Cha Cha Cha.

Este proyecto, “Ritmo y Sabor”, fue creado en 2019 por Virgil Y Cumbias,

el único profesor de baile en el Reino Unido que tiene esta pasión por la Cumbia colombiana y la Cumbia Sonidera, y te quiere en el círculo de RUEDA DE CUMBIA.

Somos muy afortunados de estar aquí en Bristol y compartir con ustedes el verdadero poder de la cumbia.

Estas clases de baile te prepararán para todos los eventos de Cumbia que tendrán lugar en Bristol o en cualquier otro lugar del mundo.

Ahora mismo... lo único que tienes que hacer es, si te gusta el sonido de la Cumbia, venir y experimentar con nosotros este increíble ritmo de Cumbia colombiana y cumbia mexicana.
