About

An afternoon with the local Ukrainian community & their friends to share music, food and friendship with the wider Brighton and Hove community. Come and join the fun. Children of all ages are welcome.
March musical guests include:
Iryna Muha

Iryna is Ukrainian born singer, songwriter, hurdy-gurdy player, leader of MUHA band. She is inspired by her native region of Podillya, steeped in folk mythology, its literature and music. She also finds her creative energy in the elemental beauty of nature-rivers and seas, fogs and clouds, rain and sunshine. Her songs, accompanied by guitar and hurdy-gurdy tell timeless stories of love and belonging, tales abandonment, hope and mortality. Her traditional vocal style, lyrical and hypnotising, takes listener’s imagination to a journey through Eastern European Folklore with her.
Based in the UK, her musical prowess extends to international stages, including notable performances on BBC Radio 3 and BBC Radio 4, as well as appearances at renowned festivals like Eurovision Liverpool 2023, Latitude, Edinburgh Mela, and the Rupununi Music and Arts Festival in Guyana, South America.
Ukrainian Voices

Founded in 2022, the Ukrainian Voices are a Brighton-based community choir created to share Ukraine's rich musical heritage with audiences in Brighton and beyond.
While their repertoire spans a range of genres, from heartfelt ballads to reggae, they also have plenty of upbeat folk tunes that will have you tapping your feet and clapping along. And if you're lucky, you might even catch them doing traditional Ukrainian dancing on stage!
