The Icicle Works were formed in Liverpool in 1981 by Ian McNabb, Chris Layhe and Chris Sharrock. The group scored hits in the UK and America, with four highly-rated albums released 1984-1988.
Ian McNabb began a successful solo career in 1991 and was nominated for the Mercury Prize in 1994 for the 'Head Like A Rock' LP. He has released over 20 solo albums since 1993 and has worked with artists such as The Waterboys, Ringo Starr, Neil Young, Peter Buck, Lightening Seeds and Danny Thompson among others.
In 2023 Ian decided to re-unite with Chris Layhe for a series of acoustic shows.
