Marcus Coates - Upstairs at Cherry Red's

Marcus Coates is a brilliant young pianist and composer, local to the Midlands, an active member of the Birmingham jazz scene, and is in his final year on the conservatoire's Jazz degree course.

Strongly influenced by the likes of Sullivan Fortner and Gerald Clayton, this Wednesday he will bring a trio set of original compositions and arrangements for us to enjoy!

His trio features Ben Shankland on double bass and Jonathan Silk on drums, both of whom are heavyweights of the Birmingham jazz scene, both highly captivating players, and both recipients of the BBC Scotland Young Jazz Musician award!
