Jake Vaadeland is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist and songwriterfrom Saskatchewan,Canada. His traditional sound and unique stylecould be defined as a blend of Bluegrass and 50’s Rockabilly, withJake also specializing on guitar and banjo inaddition to his impressivevocals. Jake strives to write and play with a focus on storytelling andmessages that he hopes his audience can relate to, all packaged in footstomping, high energy performances with TheSturgeon River Boys.In 2023, he performed at JunoFest, CCMA Week, travelled toNashville to showcase at AmericanaFest, and opened for artists likeDean Brody and Charley Crockett. He recently earned a WesternCanadian Music Award nomination for ‘Roots Artist of the Year’ andwon a SaskatchewanCountry Music Award for ‘Alternative CountryAlbum of the Year’.2022 also proved to be a remarkable for Jake Vaadeland, as hereceived 2x Saskatchewan Music Awards including Album of the Yearfor ‘Everybody But Me’, along with the Folk/Roots Artist ofthe Year.In addition, he earned 4x Saskatchewan Country Music Awards,including Fans Choice Entertainer of the Year, Songwriter of the Year,Alternative Country Album of the Year and Emerging Artist of theYear. His album, Retro Man also finished at #2 infan voting for theBest Saskatchewan Albums of 2021
