Los Chichanos (one of the top Scottish Latin bands and pioneers of the psychedelic Peruvian Cumbia music in the country) will bring their first Tropical Fiesta show of 2026 to Edinburgh new venue, the People's Leisure Club (formerly Boteco do Brasil). A huge night to dance and to celebrate the release of their first EP (with London based Record Label Ritmo Del Barrio) on 7" vinyl - which will be available for sale with other merch on the night. About Los Chichanos:
From the windswept streets of Edinburgh comes a sound that gallops wild through the night - equal parts jungle heat and Highland haze. Los Chichanos, a fiercely multicultural collective formed in 2021 under the spirited direction of guitarist Sandino Borges. Never ones to wait for an invitation, the band have carved out a scene of their own in Edinburgh- a home for tropical rhythm and nocturnal joy amid Scotland's long dark nights.
Their devotion to the electrifying pulse of Peruvian tropical music, cumbia and chicha, intertwined with Afro-Latin rhythms and vintage psychedelia runs deep. Add the soul of Cuban son, the swing of Brazilian grooves and a hint of spaghetti western melodrama, and you begin to hear the distinct voice of Los Chichanos.

Caballo Salvaje gallops forward with fuzzed-out guitar, echo-drenched organ, and the untamed spirit of the Andes. Cumbia de la Noche was written during a harsh winter season when daylight became a distant memory.
About Ritmo Del Barrio:
Ritmo del Barrio (RDB) is a London-based independent record label founded in 2021 and dedicated to rediscovering and celebrating vintage Latin American music, with a special focus on the hypnotic sound of Peruvian cumbia also known as Chicha.
Working closely with historic Peruvian labels such as Discos Horóscopo, Music Shop Peru and Sono Radio, RDB has reissued music by artists including Cuarteto Universal, Los Shapis, Julio Mau y Los Imbatibles, Los Dexters de Uchiza and Los Demonios del Mantaro. Its compilation Chicha por Favor Vol. 1 captures the psychedelic energy and deep groove of 1970s-80s Chicha.
More than a label, RDB is a DJ-driven cultural project run by Stefano, combining releases, research and the Chicha por Favor parties; community dancefloor gatherings bringing the sound from the streets of Lima to London.Los
