For over a decade, Mediterraneo Carnevale has been a celebration of madness and mischief, of the world turned upside down. It is the time of the year when the Fool rules in town and Harlequin the servant turns master. The time to go wild, to don your best costume and disguise of choice. Time to dance the madness away!

THE BADWILLS are Scotland's very own Italian folk music band - performing wild shows of Pizzica, Tarantella and Tammurriata music. The Badwills have entranced audiences with their powerful mix of Southern Italian music and rhythms, mashed up with Scottish-Irish vibes for more than ten years. From Orkney to the Borders, Lisbon to Newcastle, from theatres and the streets, with hundreds of stops between, it has been hard to resist their bite of the tarantula. They have played host to the hugely successful Mediterraneo world music concert series since 2012, sharing the stage with some of the UKs biggest world music acts. They bring the foot stomping music, sun and stories from southern Italy. Come ready to dance, to sing, to dream!

OCH VEY are Scotland's premier anarcho-klezmer band. They take the traditional folk music of Eastern European Jews and fuse it with a punchy backline. They give a generous dose of high octane, dance inducing, punk infused klezmer music. Expect soaring clarinet solos, wailing fiddle, crunchy guitar, pounding drums, Brittany-inspired accordion, and a large quantity of bass.

EL_PI_B0Y is a Peruvian DJ selector based in Edinburgh, bringing tropical sounds from classic mambo to contemporary electronic-infused rhythms. With a strong focus on Peruvian cumbia-especially psychedelic guitars-his sets move through salsa, chicha, vallenato, technocumbia, connecting Latin American roots with the modern dancefloor.
