Sister Suzie hails from the northern most tip of Northumberland and it was her love of singing R&B and a love for Rufus Thomas, Irma Thomas and a bit of Elvis of course that first took her to New Orleans and Memphis, here her love for the music grew and upon return she moved around the UK working with various outfits to re create some of the sounds she loves. She then made her way to Hastings on the East Sussex coast, where she has made her home the last few years. While she appeared with many bands here and abroad, she made her first EP in July 2016. From out of the session players she hired for that recording Suzie began to create the ‘right’ band which she is now recording her first album with and has been playing some great shows in Europe and around the clubs of London. Like the music, the Sister Suzie story is fast paced, vibrant and explosive. Her influences include:Irma Thomas, Memphis Minnie, Big MamaThornton, Little Walter, Jimmy Reed, Robert Johnson, Rufus Thomas, Leadbelly, Elmore James, and many more..
