A new band on the Manchester scene, having formed from musicians sourced from Facebook marketplace to music room posters- an amalgamation of lads passionate about joining a band to make a change. Their second single, ‘Great Imitator’, got a warm reception from the crowd, despite its release date being only a week before the gig.
When chatting to the band about the writing process behind the track, they discussed its build from just a skeleton created by Joe (lead singer) to its full glorious form. Their blatant acceptance of the toll producing music can take on inter-band relationships was comedic, but the disagreements along the way are all made worthwhile when its heard live. Only a Northern band would include the word ‘porridge’ so many times in a song, but it’s definitely worth a try out-despite the lead singers distinctive vocals.
The rest of their set was a mix of unreleased hits that I’m sure we’ll see soon on Spotify, broken up by chants of “Pomona” from exhilarated fans. Upbeat rhythms and unique lyrics characterise this indie band, a fresh sound that I’m sure will develop as their journey continues. - RGM
