Biography

Elisa Caleb was born in London and raised in Barbados. She began listening to jazz at the age of 14.

She began singing in 2005 and since then has performed in numerous venues around the the UK and internationally including Moscow, Paris, Brussels, Italy, Greece and Barbados. As well as performing with top British jazz musicians like Tony Kofi, Seb Rochford, Soweto Kinch, Gary Husband, Mike Outram, Troy Miller, Mike Mondesir, Gareth Lockrane, Jim Mullen, Mornington Lockett and others.

Her debut album, 'Carry Me Home' topped the iTunes jazz charts on it's release and she has received high praise from critics and journalists.

"Once in a while a voice reaches deep inside you. That's how I first heard Carole King, Maria Muldaur, Sarah Vaughan and Peggy Lee. And if Elisa's gloriously subtle phrasing doesn't do that for you, you're a poor lost soul!" - Jazzwise Magazine

"Silken-voiced jazz goddess. The light but sure touch of this Filipino-Bajan babe stirs up a quiet storm of a superior kind." - The Daily Mirror

"Elisa Caleb sings jazz classics in a light and airy Brazilian style and her husband's songs as though they were already classics. Anyone who bought a bit of early Ella Fitzgerald Decca vinyl at a gig in the mid-forties, would have been pleased, I'm sure. There is just a sparkling hint of the First Lady of Song in Elisa Caleb. I've been listening to the star ever since." - Sir Peter Stothard, The Times
