Biography

People pleasing gets a bad rap. Keyrah’s got it down.

Known for playing pick-and-mix with a magnitude of genres, Keyrah’s eclectic approach to her curations allows her to seamlessly blend between a multitude of club settings and radio shows across the world. She steps away from the obvious choices yet always appeases the crowds. It’s effortless and refreshing.

She cites her musical richness from a household of eclectic sounds played by her parents and her background in music performance. Present day, you can catch Keyrah spinning music from various corners of Future Sounds, Electronica, House, R&B, Rap, Soul, Indie and Jazz but to name a few, all of which is reflected in her monthly residency with Rinse FM. She’s an all-in-one sound collective - without a lens or some criterion for selection. It’s the sort of filter that’s often unstated but clearly detectable among DJs.

Since moving in 2019, the Birmingham born selector is fast-becoming a favourite in London’s competitive scene, she plays, crushes her set and does it all over again. There’s no gimmick. Every venue is her pitch, playing the likes of KOKO, Fabric and XOYO and hosting guest mixes for BBC 1Xtra, Soulection and NTS Radio. She’s kept crowds toasty for players like Jorja Smith and Mansur Brown and has been turning tables for brands such as Pioneer, Nike, Stussy, Hypebeast, Selfridges and LN-CC.

“Different day, different track, different mood” - Keyrah
