John J realised that house was the next musical explosion .
Already working the turntables through electro and hip-hop he moved into purchasing house music from eastern block and set about getting his first gigs.
First came in his home town where he played the legendary "acid-ee night " this took place on a Monday night and showed the power of the new incoming music packing the club full and queue's of people outside dressed in smiley faces .
He continued to play at various clubs before managing to grab a spot at a outside rave called "Blast Off" in July 1989 near Blackburn .
Here he met dj shack and the ‘Hardcore Uproar’/’Boomtown team who arranged the warehouse parties around Blackburn from 1989 - 1991.
John J went on to play at most of these party’s along side dj shack before the end at Lomeshaye Industrial Estate Nelson where Approx 10,000 people attended , with the police stopping the warehouse party’s and club night’s emerging john was approached to be resident dj at " Monroe’s "
People queued from 2pm in the afternoon to make sure they’d get in the club it really was special.
Residences at Sequins, Zone, Jooce in Blackpool & The Empire in Morecambe and The Pier Wigan as well as playing at Angels in Burnley, Ark , Life @ bowlers m/cr, Revenge party’s and many more .
John continued to play regular up and down the uk at many clubs/events and festivals before launching his first own night "Insomnia" in 1998 playing progressive house and trance the night ran for 2 years with guests djs from miss moneypennys, gatecrasher, cream and feel .
In 2008 he launched Undergroundsoundsystem with a team of djs to put on events as a collective and utilising a web site with live radio & video streaming shows and in 2010 Undergroundsoundsystem hosted there own tent @ tommyfest a small festival on the n/west coast .
