Biography

DJ Style has been an instrumental part of establishing the Hip-Hop R’n’B scene in Bristol for last 32 years , and has play alongside the likes of , Roni Size, Jazzie B, Rampage, Semtex, Rapaattck, Ronnie Herell, New York City DJ Stretch Armstrong, 1 Xtra's Rampage, reggae legends Dawn Penn, Janet Kay, Omar, and has been support DJ at performances from Tribe Called Quest, Donell Jones, Gwen McCrae, Arrested Development, VIP Area for Massive Attack's concert at Westonbirt Arboretum.

Building on his reputation and being involved with radio station as far back as the late 80's, DJ Style created his own a radio programme from the success and impact of the Code of the Streets mixtape which started in 2000. It would then become a programme featured on a number of R.S.L (Restricted Service License) Station creating a huge listenership and at the same time building the brands momentum. It also host a club residency night for the last 16 years making it amongst one of Bristol’s longest night for RnB, Hip Hop, Dancehall & Old School.

DJ Style have started out on presenting shows Pirate station, S.P.E.C FM, Raw FM, Dance FM, & Passion FM,then eventually working on RSL (Restricted Service License) Bay FM, Xpress FM (Cardiff) Respec FM, Powerjam, Ujima Radio, West One, Burst FM (U.W.E) Kute FM, SOS (Shade Of Soul) and has been featured on Galaxy 101 (now Kiss 101) and BBC Bristol. Currently Style is co-presenting & producing a weekly radio programme on BBC Radio Bristol Sunday’s 6pm-10pm

Code of the Streets radio show has gone on to grow from strength to strength being regularly featured every Saturday night 8pm - 10pm Ujima Radio, where was a Broadcasting Manager for 5 years, in which time the station one over five awards.

The Code of the Streets show has featured interviews with the likes of international superstar Wyclef Jean, RnB singer Brandy, Carleen Anderson, Fatman Scoop, 112, Omar, Big Narstie, Bobby V and Hip Hop legend Kurtis Blow. In 2017 DJ Style became a recipient of a Media & Music Award at MTM Awards, a ceremony that celebrates the excellence & achievements of the Asian, Black & Ethnic Minorities in the South West. Now in its seventh year the event welcomes over 3000 people across communities, over 1000 nominees and with over 60,000 voting online since inception in 2012.
