Biography

He sounds like Ryan Adams meets John Prine in a second hand bookshop. Anthony Toner is an emerging singer songwriter from Ireland. His first album, 'Eventually', picked up steady airplay and critical acclaim when it was released in 2002. Produced by former Van Morrison bassist and top producer Clive Culbertson, it featured a clutch of well-written songs and memorable musical performances. His most recent album, 'A Sky for Every Day', also produced by Clive Culbertson, features even stronger material, including the bittersweet radio hit 'Sailortown', which focuses on the changing face of one of Belfast's oldest and most well-loved neighbourhoods. In the week of its release, the collection was named album of the week by BBC Radio Ulster. He's currently working on a new body of songs, under the title The Duke of Oklahoma and Other Stories, scheduled for release in mid-September. Read more on Last.fm.
