Shamles at the running horse

Utter shambles from start to finish the only good point was being able to talk to the band who were as gutted as we were.

Kept us waiting outside freezing
Drinks were poor watery and very pricey
PA would not work

Running Horse as a venue

It was cancelled because of the poor venue, not any fault of the band. The PA system wasn't working well and then water was running from the ceiling over the electrics and onto the dance floor area.

Review of The Animals at The Running Horse, Nottingham on 4/10/09
Overall rating: 4.5

A fantastic night. Each member of the band is really musically talented. A truely professional band. The audience had a real treat in experiencing brilliant solos from the keyboard player and lead guitarist. Lead singer had presence. enthusiasm and a huge vocal range. The drummer was "bang on" - just what you would expect from an original "Animal" member.

BD's Review of Sherman Robertson Band at The Running Horse
Overall rating: 5

We travelled over an hour to this gig and I'd do it again gladly. Great little venue where you can look the band members in the eye. THe beer's great too. It's the first time I've seen Sherman and this is the way to do it. Apart from being a fine singer and guitarist he puts on a show, and his band included one of the tightest rhythm sections I've hear in a good long time.

Great gig by an awesome live act.I have been a fan since hearing Grave New World in 1972 when I was 14,amazingly this was my first Strawbs show and it was like watching them in my living room.Thanks Running Horse.
