Bringing you the best tunes in dubstep, jungle, drum and bass and breakbeat, Beat Bazaar Bash is about quality music and top music talent. The atmosphere was second to none, the club decor by Dark Lab was awesome and the BACKDRAFT & BEAT BAZAAR LIVE PAS gave the event a totally new and different feel. The music was really good after Ratpack came on, it made me feel like I was a teenager again. The only thing that ruined was how hot it was in there. Its a good venue for a rave, that's what they're supposed to be like dark and dingey but I've decided to go to the Bowlers Reunion for the May Bank holiday because I cant be arsed with that heat again. | ||||||||||||||

waynowonder Offline Points:24 Posts: 1 | waynowonder's Review of Back By Dope Demand at Music Box Overall rating: Back by Dope Demand- Ratpack- 12.4.09 -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Ill start off with the negative bits- Had to queue longer to get in if you had prepaid vs if you were paying cash in the door which was a bit crazy- No drinks offers on so it wasnt cheap at the bar- The final and biggest gripe was (please someone correc tme if im wrong)- Dj nipper did not even bother to to turn up???- And i could be wrong but i dint see Grimmy either? Was gutted Nipper did not show as were my mates and lots of other people who had gone there especially to see him Any way enough of that- what a fooking amazing night !!!!! Got in at just before 11 and Cano and Say Say were playing a great set with loads of piano classics- hats off to you both really enjoyed it. Next up was Ratpack - and i have to say ( i have attached a few video clips) the place was absoultley jumping by the time they came on- the atmosphere was something else- they played over an hour for sure and the crowd really seemed to love it- played there usual set with a few remixes thrown in. It is the first time i have seem them live and they worked the crowd a treat-they could not even say theres lots of space lets jump around- cos there wasnt- ace - they also had a female mc up with them who had a great voice and did some rapping wich sounded great. Up next was Mark XTC who played a really varied set with some great tuneage. Then finally Butty and Recca came on at 2ish i think- Butty started to get the crowd going again with some classics- ace set- ran out of self propelled steam unfortunatley at just after 3am so missed the last 45mins Overall a great night- yes cant hide my disapointment that Nipper did not show but the rest of the Dj's and Ratpack certainlry made up for that | ||||||||||||||

Rat pack were on form, the tunes played after them were like a massive flash back of my Bowlers past, I buzzed my boobs off. The location is excellent, yeah it's small and sweaty but I felt safe and the security were there but not over bearing. There was a slight attitude, but it is Manchester afterall. Sound system not as good as I would have hoped. Atmosphere at first I felt was intimidating and non friendly but after Ratpack came on that improved. However, would very definately go again. Also experienced a bit of ageism. I am in my late 30's and kept on being asked why I was there. Doh!! Because when I was young I was dancing to what is now called Old Skool. To all you young'uns out there, you don't stop enjoying dance music when you get past 30!!!!!! | ||||||||||||||

mcdaviedee Offline Points:80 Posts: 8 | mcdaviedee's Review of Oh My God at Music Box Overall rating: What can i say what a party over 700 ravers dancing until the bitter end wicked wicked party vibes inside wicked decore and lights and awsome sound system in both rooms a few little techy probs but got sorted very quick. in the main rooom it was having it from the word go Wisdom & Critic got the party started in fine style with mr leggo dan before the big Wilf Prophecy stepped up to drop one or two dubplates and tear down the dance with Frisko hyping up the crowd then i got a phone call Micky Finn was lost across the other side of town so i had to get on my toes and find him to get him to drop a AWOL specail set alongside myself the main room went off big time. Cyantific then arrived to show his unique style and blow the place apart mixing so tight and frisko once again hyped the crowd to the max. James G & B52 then suprised us all by dropping some tasty Dubstep in the main room with Drase Kamikazi then the final set 3-4 Danny Byrd along side the omg treo Davie Dee(me) Drase and Kimira blow the night apart and kept everyone on the dance floor to the bitter end. room two well started a little later then planed but wobbie & darka started off nice rolling out the tunder.birthday boy Esqurie took us on a liquid roll before Djinn and Drase smashed it up Dubstep style.Josh & jay raasclarke & Decoy took the back room in to a jump zone smashing it like it was hot.then fuck me what was that Krafty PK and freinds gave me a noise bleed wicked night all round | ||||||||||||||

There was a mosh pit at one point and I had to get people to confirm this was happening rather than I had had one too many! Saying that the female djs in the back room ripped up the place and it ended on a pleasant note. I will have to go again to see if last night was a one off. x | ||||||||||||||
