Food For Friends opened in 1981 and as its reputation and success grew it spread further along Prince Albert Street as properties became available. Today it covers three shop fronts and inhabits one of the distinctive flat iron buildings of Brighton’s famous Georgian Lanes. The labyrinthine interior provides a variety of rooms to eat in. Food for Friends was one of the first vegetarian restaurants in Brighton. Today it continues with its ethos of innovative cuisine. Vegetarian food here is not ‘just a load of old lentils’ but surpasses most other cooking in its inspiration, flavour and presentation.
