The Pad in Bedford

In a back-street in Bedford called Lurke Street there is an old terrace house that many moons ago was converted into a nightclub (in days gone by it was called 'Winkles' and also the 'Limehaus') and now answers to - The Pad. For years it hosted midweek indie nights starting wayback in 1982, while entertaining the masses at weekends. Now the tables have turned and since it opened in June 2002 The Pad hosts the best 'n' busiest 'Indie' based nights every weekend. Run by and for music lovers firstly the club set out to bring something different to Bedford's night-life representing most forms of underground music. Now over four years old the Pad has settled into a nice routine; with a diet of indie based music bringing some packed weekend nights and a heaving dancefloor to Bedford's music scene as well as our special underground Thursday nights.
