York Dungeon Standard Admission takes you through 2,000 years of York’s darker history at York Dungeon. The experience uses live actors, immersive sets and special effects to bring historical scenes and characters to life, from the Vikings and their Saxon enemies to figures such as Guy Fawkes and Isabella Billington.

You can expect to encounter parts of the city’s past including the Black Plague and a torture chamber, with the show designed to be seen, heard and, as the description puts it, smelt as you move through it.
