About York Dungeon Standard Admission

York Dungeon Standard Admission is an immersive experience that takes you through 2,000 years of York’s darker history. Using live actors, immersive sets and special effects, it brings the city’s murkier past to life in a theatrical walk-through format.

Along the way, you encounter the Vikings and learn about their Saxon enemies before meeting well-known historical figures and local characters including Guy Fawkes and Isabella Billington. The experience also covers the Black Death and the torture chamber, combining history, scares and humour as you move through the attraction.

Key facts: The experience is suitable for children aged 5 and over, but it is not recommended for under 8s.
