Carr Lodge Park Horbury

This will be the 22nd Horbury Show run by the Rotary Club of Horbury & Ossett Phoenix at 11am on Sunday 24 June in Carr Lodge Park at Horbury. one of the main attractions, if as currently scheduled, the Battle of Britain Flight Spitfire makes its fly past about 12.30pm.
As usual there will be many stalls, fairground rides, and attractions around the main ring including The Rifles Regiment shooting gallery, Classic cars and Motor cycles, Whirlwinds disabled basketball team display, Punch and Judy Shows, and for the first time this year Animal Farm with a wide variety of animals for children to get up close to - all. Also for the first time in addition to the usual bar marquee and catering facilities there will be a Prosecco and Cocktail bar with its own small seating area.
The introduction of ferret racing last year proved very popular and will feature again as will the Falconry Display in the main ring. Live music will be provided by the ever popular Horbury Victoria Band , and other main ring activities will include local majorettes and the display group Spice. Wakefield Dog Training Club will be running a Dog Show with all the usual categories and owners are asked to register early if they wish to enter - also to bring water with them for their dogs.
As always entry to the Horbury Show is free, as is parking and the programmes, but we do ask that visitors contribute to our bucket collections.
All profits raised by The Rotary Club of Horbury and Ossett Phoenix are paid into the clubs Charitable Trust which is supervised by The Charity Commissioners. During the past year over £24,000 from the Trust has been donated to good causes, individuals, and other charitable organisations (including £7300 at a recent presentation night) the vast majority of which serve the local community with some emphasis , but not exclusively, on Horbury, Ossett and surrounding villages.
