About

Whether you're curious about mosaic or simply looking to try something different, this workshop is a fantastic introduction to the art of mosaic, with your finished brick becoming part of a permanent public artwork in Hythe, Kent.

Over two hours, you'll design and create your own mosaic brick using a fantastic selection of colourful mosaic tiles, glass and ceramics.

Every brick is completely individual, so what you create is entirely up to you. Whether you arrive with a finished design in mind or decide as you go, your brick can be as simple, detailed, colourful or imaginative as you like.

Throughout the workshop, our experienced mosaic artists will be on hand to demonstrate techniques, answer questions and offer guidance whenever you need it. No experience is needed, and all tools, materials and equipment are provided, making this the perfect opportunity to discover mosaic for the first time or develop your existing creative skills.

Every completed brick will be professionally installed as part of the Romney Flock & Tide Tales Project, joining hundreds of individually created bricks to form a permanent community artwork at the bandstand in Oakland Park, Hythe.

This workshop is suitable for all ages and is a wonderful activity to enjoy on your own, with friends or as a family. Children are very welcome, and those under the age of 7 must be accompanied by an adult.

Your ticket includes your mosaic brick, all tools, materials and equipment, together with expert guidance throughout the workshop.

This session takes place at the Ship Inn, Dymchurch. Weather permitting, we'll be creating our mosaics in the pub garden, providing the perfect setting to enjoy a creative afternoon. The pub's bar and kitchen will be open throughout, so you're welcome to purchase drinks or food before, during or after the workshop.
