Preston Freelancer MeetUp and Coworking Day

This is a regular meet up for freelancers, home workers, solopreneurs and alike. It is aimed to provide the opportunity to meet and connect with other likeminded people working in a similar way.

Are you new to freelancing and would like to talk to others with experience?

Are you looking to work with other freelancers and would like to connect with the local community?

These are all good reasons to come and join us.

Our meet-up starts at 10am with informal conversations over a drink and pastries in our lovely social area. It will provide an opportunity to meet other people with similar experiences. We will have a guest introductions spot, again super relaxed where our guest will introduce themselves and tell us a bit about what they do. There are no round the room intros and you don't have to present yourself.

The guest speaker this month will be Jon Fraser from Social Butlers - Social Media, Facebook Ads and Ecommerce Marketing.

Jon is a Social Media Marketer, from Fleetwood. He loves working for myself, brainstorming business ideas, football and coworking with cool people!

He started his freelance journey 2 months before going into the first lockdown in 2020.

"I was trying to say yes to everything -- social media management, web design, branding and logos, video editing, email marketing, facebook ads the lot. I spent a few years winging it, taking on a couple of part time jobs here and there, but now I have had enough learning experiences to know what I need to focus on and i've leveraged some simple systems that help me stay consistent and moving forward in my business."

Jon is going to share his story of going freelance and offer some ideas and strategies to help with your social content.

There are two ticket options:

1) Freelancer Meet-Up Coffee Hour - 10am-11am : £8.50

Ideal if you just want to attend the meet-up for around an hour. Listen to our guest speaker and meet a few other freelancers.

2) Freelancer Meet-Up and Society1 Coworking Day Ticket : £18

This ticket includes both the meet-up and a day of coworking at Society1. It provides the opportunity to stay on after the meet-up and join us at Society1 for the rest of the day. Bring your laptop, grab a desk and work with us for the afternoon. Tickets includes the freelancer meet-up and an afternoon of coworking 10am - 5pm. Tea, Coffee and biscuits are included in your afternoon work pass.

About Society1:

Society1 is an independent coworking space located in Preston City Centre. We offer hotdesking, dedicated desk space, meeting room rental, virtual offices, and events. When you arrive for an event at Society1 ring the buzzer near the front door to gain access then report to reception to get checked in.

Getting there:

Society1 is located on Cross Street, just off Winckley Square (PR1 3LT). It is easily accessible by bus and train.

If you need to drive, public parking is available at Fishergate Shopping Centre or Avenham Public Car Park (closes at 8pm)
