About

The first week in May is Deaf Awareness Week. To mark this occasion Society1 member Mark Stead from Sign Access has kindly offered to host a workshop to give everyone an introduction to BSL and offer an insight to living with hearing loss.

The session will be hosted by Michael Stead

Michael has been a member of Society1 since 2022. He is the founder of Sign Access. Sign Access North West is a CIC company that focuses on helping D/deaf people in the North West getting the support they need through proactive approaches. They provide a wide range of specialist services and their dedicated staff and volunteers provide the highest standards of professional care and support.

About the session on the 1st May

The goal of this session is to bring more awareness to the challenges people with hearing loss may face within daily life.

We hope you leave the session feeling more equipped and confident when interacting with D/deaf people and hard of hearing individuals.

This workshop is free and open to anyone to attend. Places are limited so we ask that you sign up via this event listing. It will be held at Society1 and will run from 9.30am to 11am. We look forward to welcoming you.
