From the Mersey to the Moors, from the flying shuttle to Coronation Street, from Wakes Weeks to postpunk - all human life, and culture, is to be found in Lancashire.
The author Chris Moss will talk about the genesis and writing of his book, and consider Lancashire's central role in modern history as a crucible of industry, of new ideas about leisure and transport, and of entertainment, sports and the creative arts. He will also reflect on homecoming and the experience of returning to Lancashire after decades living elsewhere and travelling the world.
Samlesbury Hall has stood in Lancashire for 701 years and the historic fire-lit Great Hall will be a fitting location to launch this fascinating new book.
Entry is free, with signed copies of "LANCASHIRE: Exploring the Historic County that Made the Modern World" available to purchase on the evening.
