Meet at Ramsay Hall Car Park for shared transport to Claggain Bay.
Walk: Beinn Bheigeir (Weather permitting)
Distance/Time: 7.5 miles/all day
Level: Hard. A very good level of physical fitness is required in addition to sturdy waterproof footwear and perhaps a rain jacket. Terrain includes heather clad moorland and boggy habitats with only deer paths as our guide. Packed lunch required.
After a week of whisky indulgence, what better way to clear the cobwebs. Why not experience what else Islay has to offer with a walk to its highest point. Beinn Bheigeir is 491m high and a climb to the top is well worth the effort. On a clear day panoramic views extend across Islay, neighbouring islands and further into the Scottish highlands. A true once in a lifetime experience.
