Funhouse Comedy Club - Comedy Night

Funhouse Comedy Club brings another great night of laughter to the Saracens Head, Southwell on Thursday June 13th.

Topping the bill is the somewhat cynical and gloomy Mike Gunn, who despite this has the ability to get the crowd on his side, however far he pushes! In his first Edinburgh Festival Show, he appeared as a funeral director! He has appeared on numerous TV programmes, including Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow (BBC1), Celebrity Deal or no Deal (CH 4), and Harry Hill’s TV Burp (ITV). He has also been a contributor for The Guardian and written for Time Out, The List and Match of the Day Magazine and was support for Lee Mack on a huge theatre tour.

Opening the night will be 2021 British Comedian of the Year Finalist, the diminutive Andy Askins, who has appeared on BBC1’s The John Bishop Show; his air of vulnerability and innocent child-like qualities mislead the crowd heightening the impact of his killer lines. With his guitar and his wickedly dry sense of humour, he captivates everybody with an eclectic mix of offbeat comical songs and parodies. A talented musician with an appealing voice and cheeky magnetism, he never fails to leave his mark.

Also appearing is David Eagle, winner of 2018's Nottingham Comedy Festival New Comedian Of The Year and member of three-time BBC Radio 2 Folk Award winning band The Young’uns, with his various side-splitting-stories about being blind.

Completing the line-up will be writer, stand-up comedian and journalist Jack Kelly. 

Compere for the night is the amiable and animated Spiky Mike.
