About

The Horse & Plough Comedy Night

After the huge success of the first three Bingham Comedy nights, we are ready for the next one !

The Horse & Plough is host to our next brilliant comedy night on the 2nd May 2024 !

Check out this astonishing line up :

Ian Whitcombe (MC)

Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week, Taskmaster and Britain’s Got Talent are just a few of the programmes Ian’ has never appeared on. The list is literally endless!

Groan-inducing puns, sparkling one-liners and stories about where doctors like to put their fingers mean that this act is a must-see.

Ian’s one-liners are well thought out, clever and genuinely laugh out loud’ – Oli Clarke, Toolmakers Comedy Club

Ian has a natural & likeable stage presence with good pacing and nice jokes’ – Greg Phillips – Laffa Cake Comedy

Ricky Balshaw (Closer)

A quick-witted, slow walking, fast rising star, Ricky Balshaw is without question, the funniest Paralympic Dressage medallist in the UK, perhaps the world.
Stepping over his cerebral palsy like it’s the mildest of inconveniences, Ricky pulls his audience into a joyfully dark world of self-depreciating hilarity. No sympathy vote is needed (or accepted) as Ricky dominates comedy stages up and down the UK.

A brilliant joke-smith and storyteller, this young man has comedy greatness in his bones.

He has performed at clubs such as Hot Water Comedy Club and clubs across the Midlands. Ricky has also been a pundit for Channel 4 for the Paralympics from London, Rio and Tokyo.
He is also a BBC New Comedy Award finalist who has appeared on BBC One and BBC Three.

Pat Draper (Opener)

Since Patrick first nonchalantly ambled onto the stage in October 2011, he has cemented his place on the UK comedy circuit with a mixed bag of deadpan jokes, visual gags and songs.

“His unenthusiastic style has a nice, unhurried rhythm…” – Steve Bennett (Chortle)

After making it to the finals of the English Comedian Of The Year awards in 2015, Patrick then took his début show, Absolutely Vacuous to the Edinburgh Fringe festival. Where his laissez-faire hour of comedy received a “Highly Recommended Show” accolade from Fringe Review amongst other glowing critiques. “A gem of a show” – Fringe Review

Patrick can now be found making people laugh in some of the most prestigious comedy clubs all over the UK, and has forthcoming gigs for Funhouse Comedy, Custard Comedy, and Stagefright Comedy

Tej Dhutia (Middle)

A seasoned stand-up comedian and presenter, who brings a unique blend of humour and charisma to every stage and microphone. With several years of experience in stand-up comedy, Tej is now eagerly anticipating bringing her debut solo show to the Leicester Comedy Festival.

Her passion for presenting, particularly in radio, has led Tej to her role at a local radio station, and is now setting her sights on national platforms. Her experience includes a thrilling stint presenting at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games in 2022!

Jack Wilson (Middle)

Jack is three years in to doing stand-up and was described as “brilliant” by Micky P Kerr and “The guy’s got his game together” by Nish Kumar and “One of the most intelligent joke writers on the circuit” Rock Central.

Please be advised that our comedy line-ups are subject to change. Our talented comedians are in high demand and, on occasion, may need to cancel at short notice for television or radio recordings, among other reasons. Rest assured, we will always provide a replacement act of similar quality to ensure that our guests receive a great overall show experience.

While most of our guests come for the entire show, we understand that some may be travelling to see a particular comedian. If that’s the case, we recommend checking our website on the day of the show or joining our mailing list to receive the latest updates on any changes to the line-up. We’re committed to providing our guests with the best possible experience, and we thank you for your understanding.

This event is an 18+ event and may contain strong language.
