The Endless Game - charity world-record bowls marathon
From 6am on Saturday 1 August 2026, two players step onto the green at Newark Town Bowls Club and start a game that doesn’t stop. Jamie Croft and Matt Noble are attempting a Guinness World Records title — the longest marathon playing outdoor bowls (singles) — aiming for 36 hours of continuous play and beating the current record of 32 hours 34 minutes.
They’re doing it for Menfulness, a men’s mental health charity, because going the distance — quietly carrying on when things are hard — is something a lot of men do alone. Come down, bring a chair, stay five minutes or five hours. It’s free, it’s in Newark, and you’ll be part of it. Can’t make it? You can still donate and help them keep going.
Coming along: it’s free, it’s outdoors, and you can drop in any time across the weekend. Bring a folding chair and a friend. Five minutes or five hours, day or night — you’re part of it.
