From David's early days as a graphic artist for The Sunday Times to his tenure as design director at the Financial Times, David led the industry's transition from century - old hot metal typesetting to digital production.
This art exhibition offers a rare look at David's personal evolution. It begins with his early, meticulous pencil drawing of a Linotype machine and moves into his later digital works. When a multiple sclerosis diagnosis necessitated his departure from the high-speed world of daily news, David turned to the computer as a fine art medium. Using the digital stylus with the soul of a traditionalist, he produced a body of work that proves the "matrix" of the screen can hold as much joy and texture as the printing press.
