CIAD Exchange is a seasonal lecture series which gives members of the public an opportunity to engage with research into clothing and adornment from Africa and the African Diaspora. This Spring Exchange is about the ways in which the black body has been viewed and thought of as being licentious and forbidden, whilst simultaneously being disgusting and invisible. Join us as we discuss the various ways in which the black body has represented these projected sexualised ideals throughout history.
This is a two hour event consisting of an hour long presentation and an hour long networking amd drinks reception.
