Millom palladium opened in 1912, operating as a theatre, cinema and community hub. The ground floor housed a purpose built theatre and cinema featuring stall and balcony seating. As well as full stage facilities. The lower floor contained dressing rooms and a large room with billiard tables. 

In the mid 1920s shareholders sold the building to a cinema company, however Millom Amateur Operatic society retained the right to hold its annual musicals.

In 1968 when the closure of the last iron mine led to the cinema company offering to sell the palladium to the society for £6,000. The society managed to raise the funds through the public, securing the building and to maintain it's original use. 

In 1977, renovations included removing the fixed seating and installing new floors. And the former billiard room became a rehearsal space. It is a proud charity run theatre with rich history! 

PARANORMAL HISTORY- 

There has been reports of mysterious footsteps being heard and sound of chatter and laughter. Unusual knocking sounds and a ghostly woman and child seen as well as reportings of strange lights being seen too.
