Review of Wizzy Live 2.0

what a awesome night .the set was banging. go on wizzy son 

Cracking gig at The Polar organised by Arcade Promotions. Openers, Compass, are a favourite band of mine, great acoustic covers/originals and becoming one of the tightest most professional young bands in Hull.

Section 60 where a new band to me and I was highly impressed, hints alt/nuwave rock form the 90's played confidently and with tons of energy, I hope they play Hull again.

It was also the first time I had seen The Tennents and I really enjoyed them, very popular with a young crowd already turning up to see them play they have bags of potential and with a few more gigs under their belts will become a band to rave about I think.

gig review

well with 2 bands dropping out last minute - what is it with bands at the moment? it was left to A Dirty Downfall and Stimpy Myth to carry the night.

A Dirty Downfall where playing their first gig and sounded really tight with some good song ideas and a confident cover, they are ones to keep an eye out for.

Stimpy Myth headlined and played a longer 45 minute set including some new tracks, they get better and better every time I see them, massive dollops of nu-wave rock bring to mind early Police but with some upto date flourishes adding in modern rock sounds from people like Kings Of Leon, Smashing Pumpkins, etc, etc.

The Polar Bear is a venue that normally has covers bands so its great to see them putting on this monthly original live music night organised by Arcade Promotions and sound engineered by Music HQ - its going to be a massive success I think.

The Welly & Fruit team have bought The Polar Bear pub!
&#34;Everyone else is opening bars at the moment - lets get back to the original boozer&#34;

The aim is to bring together people who visit Welly and Fruit in one place by offering something for everyone. 
Bands from the Humber Street venue showcase their music on a new sound system at some of our many nights including The Sesh and DIG!
Real ales, beers and spirits are available on the bars along with Hull City matches when they&#39;re on.
