Review of Queen's Park Spring Weekender '26 - Bank Holiday - May 2nd & 3rd

One of the best events I have ever had the joy of attending. Seamless in every aspect.

We paid for 4 tick*ts, treating our friends to their first Spring Weekender event. The event was great, as always - well organised and fabulous music - but our day was spoiled, and cut short, by an unfortunate incident concerning the event security. My partner filmed some very aggressive behaviour (people being escorted out and then beaten behind the cordons), and was told he would have to leave if he did not delete the footage. He let the security guard delete it, but was then removed anyway. The security person refused to give us his ID details, but I believe we have enough to identify him. The supervisor was more reasonable, and shared his details, but said he had to support his colleague, who said my partner had threatened him. This was not the case.
We are so upset and disappointed about the treatment we witnessed and then experienced. 
Having attended Optimo events for 30 years, we know this is not what they are about at all.
We would suggest the security staff could benefit from some trauma informed training. We appreciate their jobs must be challenging at times, but there is no excuse for this kind of abuse of power.
We hope sharing this might help avoid similar happening to others in future.

To have water taps for the public and no smoking in the tents. Overall I enjoyed the vibe of the venue, not really my type of music 🙂

Very well organised, friendly and welcoming event.

Bar and toilet queues reasonable. Whole event kept clean.

Sound was good.

First time at this event but will definitely be back.

Review of Queen's Park Spring Weekender 2025

gets worse each year, with less live bands and less disco vibes just basic house music like every other boring place watering itself down year by year.

This is my second time going to one of these concerts. Friendly staff, well organised, probably could have more toilets. Really enjoyed the event
