Chris McClure

Chris McClure (Christian) is a showbiz survivor, clocking up more than 50 years in the business.  It al began at the age of 19 when Chris joined The Fireflies and became their front man. Chris McClure and the Fireflies were a popular 60s Glasgow based group. They became known for their tight sound and vocal harmonies specialising in Tamla Motown and Soul music. They played throughout Scotland but were the resident band at the Flamingo after the Pathfinders and also the Picasso Club in Buchanan Street, Glasgow. When the group featured in the STV pop program called Stramash (1971) they changed their name to The Chris McClure Section.

This marked the start of Chris's solo career.  He changed his stage name to Christian and played virtually every venue in Scotland.  Including a number of 1960's & 70's revival shows at some of Scotland's most renowned theatres.  If 60's and 70's is your thing and you love a performer with huge energy (as well as a great voice), Christian is your man.  And we are delighted to bring him back to Fauldhouse Miners Welfare to rekindle those memories.
