Review of Rainton Funfair and Firework’s

The fireworks were brilliant however the music was not suited to families. Most importantly though I dont feel the event was safe.  It was definitely over capacity and leaving the event was scary. Too many people trying to get out of too small am exit. I had to carry my child to stop him being stood on or crushed in the crowd. My 11 wk old baby was screaming in his pram and I couldn't physically get to him because of how many people were crammed around us. There were no stewards directing people - its a miracle no one got hurt, and thank goodness we hadn't had to evacuate for any reason as I dread to think what would have happened.  It had the potential to be a great event but they definitely need to learn some lessons from this year.

Not sure what we paid for - they must have given up scanning tickets when they reached capacity. Queued around the block, too many people crammed in, rides expensive, absolute rip off.

Oversold packed a health and safety hazzard what a awful experience

Too crowded for the venue, dangerous trying to leave the venue via such a small exit gate

Absolutely terrible event, the organiser sold too many tickets , too many people , health and safety issue I'm sure

Although it was good fireworks etc the queues to get in and out and for rides were ridiculous shouldn’t be allowed that many people in the small space

Too many people in small area boobs could hardly move

Fireworks were fab only bad point felt too many people were there made it very difficult with pram

The fireworks and the funfair were great and the selection of food stalls, the only issue I had was that it was far too crowded, I know there's not many fireworks displays in the area but there were far to many people been let in, it was so over crowded you were shoulder to shoulder with people all the time and couldn't get moved I actually went outside of the grounds to watch the fireworks with my children as there were far too many people been let in

I loved the the event ,
BUT we paid through skiddel and where advised gates close at 6pm . We arrived at 5.30pm managed to park up and joined the queue around 5.40pm after waiting around 10 minutes I left my husband to keep our space and walked to the front overtaking around 150-200 people. Once at the front I found they where still allowing people to pay at the gate and was informed the gates would close at 6pm as it was close to capacity. There was no way we where getting in ,in 5-10 minutes so I rang my hubby to walk down to the front jumping the queue had our tickets scanned and we went in . I did feel bad jumping the queue but I really think it was bad they where going to be turning away people who had already paid while still taking money on the gate .
It was great atmosphere yes it was busy but no busyer that other displays I've been too and would go again. Great fire eaters and caricatures snow-white ect . Yes food and drink where expensive but on par with other events we have been to this year . The queues where bad for them too .The DJ was great fun to watch even in my 50s lol . The fireworks where fantastic.

Major issue been the exits this should be looked in to before next year it was dangerous to say the least almost everybody leaving at once down 2 small exits . A massive crowd pushing their way out  past shows if there had been a fire on any of them this could have caused panic with people pushing different ways i feel this was a big health and safety issue.  In hindsight we would have gone back to the bar area had a coffee and waited .
I know it's a mixed review but the bottom line is we will be back next year if we did have children I would definitely not . The exit needs to be addressed by next year is a shame because it was a great night x

Great few hours spent at the fireworks night. Great performers, lovely food (although a queuing system should be implemented to stop rude people pushing in).  The firework display was superb- not even the rain spoiled our fun. Will definitely be back.

Very good show kids loved it definitely go again

It was a great  night , the fireworks were fabulous and the warm wooden cabins were lovely , needed a few more food vans and a larger exit for people to leave but overall a huge success 😊
