Idren & friends, welcome to the OneLove Hifi vs Burning Bush HiFi soundclash 2026!
It has now been twelve months since OnLove HiFi launched in Tayside and to celebrate we are running a sound clash event.
Let's get ready to rumble with two big bull inna one pen.
Burning Bush HiFi out of Aberdeen return to Dundee after almost 26 years since the first bout with Gordon back in they days of FSOD. This time they string up alongside OneLove HiFi for a second round inna sound clash style.
One venue and two soundsystems battling it out and playing all things Reggae
Ring the alarm and shake the bell - no holds barred in the dance
With the rise of soundsystem culture once again in Dundee it seems the correct time to run a the soundclash and hear two authentic systems bring their best tracks, dubplates, and effects. Hear what these crews can do with a stack of speaker boxes!
Introducing to you, standing firm in the green corner: BurningBush HiFi that has been crafted by Gav and is powering dances all over Aberdeen and collaborating with teams, crews, and merrymakers from the shire and beyond. Gav is a staunch part of the Scottish scene and has put together a fully analogue and stereo soundsystem with kit from the 70's & 80's. This machine is still running components used when soundsystems were first introduced to the UK. Allured to the sound and feeling of bass and a drive to understand how that is fabricated whilst he was working within the events industry Gav has went on to fashion a distinctive machine of might and of justice, rooted in soundsystem heritage and suited to functions here and there. Come hear it for yourself, come see it for yourself, come feel it for yourself. Standing by the ropes and prepared to be tagged into the ring by Gav is selector Rowan. Part of the Roots Rock Reggae collective Rowan is armed and dangerous; music is his weapon of choice.
And in the yellow corner, ready to dance, it is OneLove HiFi: Tayside's resident soundsystem with Gordon at the controls. Since it's inaugural function at the Lowdown on Perth Road the system has evolved with each dance. Strung up in venues across the area powering the likes of Dundee Dub Club the system has been the hub for a community of dancers and performers to share a space and connect. #peagramjam has been an integral part of the systems journey remaining a mentor and advisor as well as procuring much of the apparatus and appliances. Teaming up with local stalwart, a man like Egang is joining Gordon and ready to be tagged into the dance. Producer, musician, singjay and deejay, Egang joins the main event and is packing all things from reggae to jungle and beyond.
So keep your hands up and be sure that you are there whilst these crews and systems battle it out at Canvas Taproom on Friday 13th March.
Canvas is home to 71 brewing and is a taproom bursting with freshly brewed ales & more.
Make it a date & don't be late; be sure to dress for the occasion
The gauntlet has been dropped and the amps are warmed
